To be the best in the world, we need a national digital infrastructure
It is time to take advantage of the opportunities to build a national, central, digital infrastructure that everyone can easily connect to. An infrastructure where all data is stored only once!
More than a century ago, committed politicians decided to build a unified transport infrastructure, our rail network. An infrastructure investment that gave welfare a boost. A modern digital society needs a modern infrastructure that enables information to be exchanged securely, uniformly and efficiently, but also to enable today's society to meet the future.
In the situation we now find ourselves in with a current pandemic, the conditions exist to build a digital infrastructure that enables cost-effective digital information exchange. By deciding on this now, we will strengthen confidence in society's ability to act in the best interests of the individual. A national central infrastructure is needed so that the public sector, regions, municipalities and businesses can easily and collaboratively develop and use welfare technology that is directly applicable and that everyone can easily benefit from.
It is time
It is time for politicians and leaders to engage in the values that welfare technology brings to society and show respect for people in need of care, as well as for those who work here on a daily basis. There are technical solutions available to use that are effective and easy to implement, where we can save taxpayers' money, improve the working environment and, not least, increase the safety and security of our elderly and chronically ill. Now, during COVID-19, this becomes even more evident!
One example of a municipality that has succeeded very well with digitization and welfare technology is Hammarö Municipality. Inspiring! Here we see examples of how focus, commitment, leadership, knowledge and respect produce results.
The technology exists
If we invest in welfare technology and its possibilities, there are great benefits to be gained - for our elderly, for professionals and for the economy. The technology exists.
What are we waiting for?
If we are to become the best in the world and pay off the healthcare debt, it is time to collaborate and, with the help of technology, enable warm hands to be found where they are needed most!
